Participants should arrive on Monday, April 27. You will attend an orientation that evening at 7:00 pm. Participants should arrive well before the orientation time in order to check into your hotel room and register in the studio. The drive from Albuquerque to Taos takes about 2 1/2 hours.
The first morning will be devoted to reviewing slides (3 each) of participants’ work. Participants will then paint in the studio.
Both days will begin with a one-hour instructional slide show. Participants will then paint while Instructors conduct scheduled private critiques with each participant. The day will end with a lecture (beginning at 4:00pm).
This day will begin with an instructional slide show, Then, students will paint with an assigned group of 20 participants with an individual instructor. The day will end with the same instructor doing an inprogress critique of the group’s work.
This is a free day to visit galleries and museums in Taos and Santa Fe or work in the studio.
After a morning slide show, instructors rotate to a different assigned group.The day ends with an afternoon in-progress critique at 4:00pm.
On final day, attend a triple-demo (Powers, Lawrence, and Schink) and informal discussion. Afternoon review and self-critique.
