A New Kind of Painting Workshop

ISS Schedule

ISS Daily Schedule

Every day brings something new at ISS.

Take a look at the workshop schedule to see what you will be doing day-by-day.

The Intensive Studies Seminar is a unique art program, unlike any other painting workshop. It was developed by five well-known artists and teachers who felt there was a need for a class that emphasized content and design concepts rather than watercolor techniques. They designed this seminar to allow serious painters to work and develop a personal direction through instruction and constructive criticism from all five instructors in a stimulating, studio environment.

In addition, the instructors design new slide programs, new lectures, demonstrations, and design clinics to help students better understand how content and form are used to create expressive works of art. The objective of ISS is to help each student find a personal direction and improve their ability to express it. The instructors help each participant find his or her own direction through private critiques of the participant's work from home and reference to that work during individual studio instruction.

The Intensive Studies Seminar offers an ideal and unique format for creative growth in the inspiring setting of Taos, New Mexico.
